Lights & Sirens International celebrated its 2nd Annual Badges & Beanbags Community Outreach Program on May 21, 2022, which was better than expected.
There was representation from the Boy's & Girls Club, Paul Coffee, Cranston East, Mount Pleasant, Nathaniel Green, PVD PD Explores, RI State Police, Smithfield, Warwick, Providence, and East Providence Police Departments. The discussion topics included the definition of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Responsibility, and Accountability for law enforcement and the general public to understand. Also, the explorers help perform mock traffic stop life skill scenarios on the topics mentioned to help both sides to see the perspective of each other point of view. Thank you to Lt. Redding of the Providence Police for building our cornhole board sets and McLaughlin & Moran Inc. for wrapping them with our logo. We can't forget Apsara for providing Southeast Asian cuisine that both sessions had the opportunity to enjoy. To the parents, teachers, administrators, and coaches thank you for allowing our organization to help change the narrative and perspective of the next generation of drivers and citizens of our community. Trust & Respect is not only given but earned, and we can do this together by becoming more socially responsible and accountable for our decisions and actions. |
