The Easter Bunny was busy on Saturday, April 20, at Fay Memorial Field in Cranston, during a free community Easter Egg Hunt.
Several hundred children and adults attended the event, hosted by the nonprofit organizations Esperanza-Hope and Lights & Sirens International. In addition to the 2,000 plastic eggs filled with candies and toys, the event featured photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, games, prizes, food and music. Ibn Bakari had the opportunity to share his life experience, education, and the importance of giving back. We would like to thank Mount Pleasant High School Staff and congratulate the students for reaching a maximum strength of 75 lbs, without destruction to the bridges made of only popsicle sticks and glue.
URI Athletics in partnership with Lights & Sirens International and Esperanza-Hope is hosting its 4th Annual URI Toy Drive on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Men's Basketball game vs. Brown University. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game for children in need this holiday season.
